Cancer stage - not to be confused with cancer grade - is the one factor more than any other that determines the primary cancer treatment. Stage is a measure of how advanced the disease has spread into the rest of the body.

Cancer grade is commonly confused with Cancer Stage. The two are not interchangeable and the difference is important to understand for both patients and their families.
